Just few more days and my newest special project will be done. This one is very unique and honestly I can't wait to introduce you to my new crochet toy. She is a character from a beloved book: "Gone with the Wind." This book has a special place in my heart because it was my grandmother's favorite book and because my entire family loves both Margaret Mitchell's book and Victor Fleming's movie. Every time I read the book or watch the movie I re-live the fate of the young Scarlett O'Hara so of course I knew that I wanted to crochet a very unique Scarlett. When I was in the local arts & crafts store last week and saw a beautiful dark green yarn, I knew it would be the perfect material for my Scarlett O'Hara. I believe I have faithfully captured the essence of this energetic, strong-willed, beautiful young woman. She is wearing the famous green dress (the dress made of old curtains) she wore when she traveled to Atlanta to meet Rhett Butler. I can visualize her moving through the streets of Atlanta, with her head held high, wearing a lovely green hat, and her green petticoats hovering above the ground as she avoids mud and puddles on the road. I'm sure she will win Rhett's heart.
